The Story Behind Centre of Hope

Centre of Hope was founded in 2018 by Dr. Linda Markley Morales.

Linda Markley Morales has been a small animal veterinarian in South Florida since 1995. After adopting her youngest daughter from Guatemala in 2005, she became involved in many charitable projects in her daughter’s native country.

In 2018, she raised enough money to build a small veterinary clinic in El Progreso, Guatemala. Since then, she has been bringing teams of veterinarians and veterinary nurses to this clinic twice yearly to provide free medical and surgical care to thousands of stray dogs and cats. She has also launched an educational program, whereby they visit elementary schools in Guatemala to educate the children on responsible and loving care for their pets.

This mission is a labor of love and will be carried on by the next generation of veterinarians - Dr. Markley’s son, Ben Morales, DVM and his partner, Taylor Truong, DVM.
